We just found out last week that we are expecting another baby (twins, if you ask Jesse) somewhere around March 12th, 2009. Jesse may get his wish for a baby in his birth month. Maybe he'll also get the baby girl he is hoping for.
Yes, this means Ronnie and the new baby will be about 15 months apart... :oS

Relationships...in the beginning...
James & Ali (our neighbor's daughter) are really good friends... actually, James says she's his "girlfriend." He even made a picture at preschool of him and Ali holding hands. Ali spent the night at our house on Thursday, so they got to play together until she went home on Friday.
Saturday...
James: "Um, Mommy. Ali broke up with me. We were on the trampoline. She said she doesn't want to be a girlfriend anymore."
Mommy: "Well, sometimes girls would rather be friends. Can you be her friend?"
James: "Well, I want her to be my girlfriend, but she said no."
I told her mom about what happened...Ali's sister, Mali, told her that she was really mean to say that to James. Sunday, our families went to lunch together at Widmer's Gasthaus...
Ali: "James, I want to get back together."
James: "Ok. Thank you."
If only relationships stayed this easy.

Same & Different
.
While I was changing Ronnie's diaper, I was talking to James about how he and Ronnie look so much alike, but James doesn't think so...
James: "I am bigger and Ronnie is smaller. My poop is brown, Ronnie's is yellow."
So, there you have it...

The Age of 20 Billion Questions
.
If there CAN be a question asked, there WILL be - because James is 4...
A Christian Children's Fund commercial comes on...
James: "Mommy, why is the boy stuck in an unforgiving world?"

Career Choices
James did a great job at wrestling practice, so we gave him a prize: Life the board game. Part way through the game he had enough degrees to get a promotion.
Me: "So, which job do you want: principal or superintendent?"
James: "Super Nintendo."

Learning About Colors
James came home from school...
James: "Daddy, guess what? Red and yellow make green."
Jesse: "No, blue and yellow make green."
After going back and forth a few times,
Jesse says: "Think what you want but blue and yellow make green."
...
...
...Cut to the evening...
(flush)...James comes out of the bathroom...
James: "Daddy, you were right! My yellow pee and the blue potty made green!"
Jesse: "See, I told you."
Thank you Vanish Drop-Ins for helping our son learn his colors! :o)
