Copy Cat

I was getting dinner going in the kitchen and James was sitting at the table eating. I hear the TV and can't figure out what Jesse is watching out there.

Frankie: "What are you watching, honey?"

... no response...

James (in a loud voice): "What are you watching, honey?... er, I mean, Daddy?"

The Power of Advertisement

James is learning about friendship and what good friends do and don't do - an important subject as he learns to be a big brother and makes friends in school.

James: "Mommy, why don't friends let friends watch cable?"

We're having a...

...BABY! Yep, the ultrasound today confirms there is still just one! And, NOPE, we didn't find out the gender...SUCKAS!!!

I've had a few bribes: free coffee, free lunch, etc. If someone seriously wants me to consider finding out what we are having, start bribing me with a new minivan...haha!

Half way there, then it's whiskey sours all around! ;op

Welcome Sweet Jackson Paul Welch!

Marty & Anna Welch did a wonderful job bringing Jackson into this world on October 1st, 2008 at 10:03 pm. He took the Tank Award, weighing in at a healthy 9 lbs. 2 oz. and measuring 21" tall. James still holds the Cranium Award with 15 1/4", but Jackson beat him by 2 oz to take the Tank title.

Jackson doesn't look like he's 9-2, but when asked where the weight is at, proud daddy Marty says it's a combination of his hair and his junk. ;op

He is such a beautiful little man and we love him & his parents so much. Congratulations Marty & Anna! We are so proud of you and your growing family, and we will pray for you as you bring this handsome little boy up to know and love Christ Jesus!

James Describes Ronnie's Diaper - take two

James' Auntie Anna texted me yesterday. James got to spend the night at his grandparents and gave his take on Ronnie...this is what he said:

James: "This one time when my brother pooped in his diaper, it was a circle and looked like a cookie."

The Deuce

(The following blog may contain graphic content that may be unsuitable for those with weak stomach or general disinterest for human bodily functions. Please proceed with caution.)

James had a break through with wiping his butt a few days ago. I was in the bathroom bathing Ronnie while James was "yucky-ing the potty".

James: "Mommy. How many squares to I use?"
Mommy: "Six."
James: "Daddy said 'four'."
Mommy: "Then use five."

...James leans forward, wipes, holds the toilet paper up to look at it...

James: "ALL RIGHT! I got some! See it wasn't that hard!"

What a victory he had that day.

James turned 5 on 9/8/08...

.
Yep, I can't believe it - he is 5 now. James has mixed feeling - he thinks it's a cool age (at least it's the coolest age he has gotten to), but there are down sides to growing up...

I was talking to him about how he feels to be five years old...
James: "Daddy says I have to wipe my own butt."
